Ranked: Top 10 best Premier League goals of the season

The 2020/2021 premier league season was completed yesterday.

Manchester City clinched the trophy; bringing their overall tally to seven.

Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea finished off in the top 4 while Leicester, West Ham and Tottenham Hotspurs finished off in the Europa League places. Sheffield United, West Brom and Fulham were relegated

For individual awards, Harry Kane won the Premier League golden boot with 23 goals, beating Salah to it by just a goal. The English Striker won the best play maker as well. He assisted his team mates 14 times; two times more than Kevin De Bruyne who won the award last season.

Ederson meanwhile won the golden gloves having kept the most clean sheets (19), he beat Edouard Mendy and Emil Martinez to it, both had 16 and 15 clean sheets respectively.

Ruben Dias won the FWA player of the season, and it therefore means the awards we are waiting for now are the best Manager award, the PFA player's player of the season award, the PFA young player award and of course, the goal of the season award.

A total of 1,023 league goals were scored by the 20 teams across the 380 games played in the league. Some of these goals scored were really spectacular and absolute beauties such that it is very hard to tell which goal will be awarded as the best goal of the season.

Well, while we ponder on who is going to win the best goal award, let's have a look at the top 10 best goals scored in the league this past season as ranked by Givemesport. Maybe with this, we can have a clue on who is going to win the award.

Let's have a look.

10. James Maddison - Manchester City vs Leicester City

In a typical Maddison fashion, the English man cut the ball inside and released an unstoppable shot into the top corner. It was indeed a stunning goal.

9. Bruno Fernandes - Manchester United vs Everton

Fernandes silenced critics who say he scores only penalties.

From outside the box, Fernandes went pass a couple of players and unleashed a powerful strike straight into the top corner.

8. Mohamed Salah - Liverpool vs West Ham United

Mohamed Salah has a reputation of scoring wonderful long range goals and curlers with his left foot. But this time though, it wasn't long range neither was it a curler.

From a counter attack, the Egyptian received the ball from Andy Robertson by producing one of the gorgeous ball controls. He went ahead to glid the ball past Lukask Fabianski who was rushing to meet him.

6. Sabastien Haller - West Ham vs Crystal Palace

Have you ever seen an over-head kick goal that is not good? Certainly not.

But not all are as good as Haller's. The Ivorian international executed a well placed over-head kick .Guaita had no chance.

5. Jesse Lingard - Wolves vs West Ham

Lingard scored a Messi-esque type of goal when he picked the ball in his own half and dribbled past several Wolves players on his way to scoring.

4. Edinson Cavani - Manchester United vs Fulham

Cavani scored from 40 yards out having spotted Areola well off his lines.

3. Ferran Torres - Newcastle United vs Manchester City

Torres improvised wonderfully by producing a quite spectacular no- look back heeled flick past the goal keeper.

2. Manuel Lanzini - Tottenham vs West Ham

From what would be the last kick of the game, Lanzini fired a rocket of a strike past Hugo Lloris and into the top corner as West Ham came from three goals down to savage a point against Spurs.

1. Erik Lamela - Arsenal vs Tottenham

This is a goal worthy of winning the Puskas award.

Lamela caught the Arsenal back line by surprise when he produced an exquisite rabona kick that went past through the legs of Thomas Partey and into the bottom corner.

Surely, this will be the goal of the season.

There you have it
