Villareal Have Won The Europa League For The First Time In The Clubs History


It's a very exciting Wednesday night of football as Manchester United and Villareal go head-to-head in the Europa League final. Both teams have been exceptional throughout the 2020/2021 Uefa Europa League season, knocking out so many great teams before reaching the final.

It was a big night for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as he aims to lay his hands on a silverware as Manchester United manager. Unai Emery who has won it three consecutive times with Sevilla will aim to cause problems for Manchester United.

Manchester United have not won any trophy since 2017, the last trophy they won was the Europa League when Jose Mourinho was in charge as Man United head coach.

It took Villareal 29 minutes to take the lead, with Daniel Parejo's cross from a freekick to Gerard Moreno who sends the ball inside the right post. 1-0.

Edinson Cavani levelled the game at the 55th minute through a rebound inside the penalty box and gleefully rifles the ball low into the middle of the net. 1-1.

The second half finished 1-1 with the outcome of the game to be decided in the extra-time.
